JDC Poland Privacy Notice Summary

We would like to give you an overview of our practices with respect to the collection, storage, use, disclosure or erasure of personal data relating to our activities.

Purpose of the Processing We are a non-profit foundation which serves charitable purposes and our data processing relates only to persons who have regular contact with us and may include the following purposes: (i) registration and participation in JDC programs and activities; (ii) communication with you and providing to you newsletter services via e-mail or post; (iii) providing social services, personal assistance and grants to you; (iv) securing our effective business operations; (v) reporting about grants to donors; (vi) publication of photo, image video and audio recordings for general promotional and fundraising purposes; (vii) compliance with accounting and taxation obligations relative to grants; (viii) compliance with corporate financial responsibilities, requests and legal demands.

Legal Basis of Data Processing: We process your personal data on the basis of your consent for sending newsletters to you or to publish your photo, image video and audio recordings for general promotional and fundraising purposes of JDC. We process personal data on the basis of contractual necessity in case you apply for and participate in JDC programs and activities or you apply for a grant. We also process data for our compliance with legal obligations of accounting and taxation related obligations or to comply with requests or legal demands. We may rely on our legitimate interest to carry out our business operations effectively. The activities of our foundation serve charitable purposes; therefore, we may process information about your religious affiliation such as your participation in movements, events, organizations relative to the Jewish culture and disclose such data on the basis of your explicit consent to the extent necessary for the purposes indicated above. We may process your data concerning health based on explicit consent if and to the extent your medical condition is relevant in relation to your participation in our programs. We may also process other special categories of personal data about you if necessary for establishing, exercising or defending legal claims.

Recipients: We transfer your personal data with your explicit consent to other JDC entities (including The American Jewish Joint Distribution Committee, Inc., US) and third parties (our business partners, donors, benefits providers), our service providers, and, in accordance with applicable law, governmental authorities, courts, external advisors, and similar third parties, some of the aforementioned recipients located in jurisdictions outside the EU.

Data Retention: We will retain your data during our relationship with you and thereafter until the statute of limitations under civil laws expires and/or for other relevant period if EU or Polish law requires storage of your personal data. A statutory data retention obligation of at least five years applies to personal data in contracts, invoices, communication and business correspondence being accounting documents.
